Iloilo (ILO) to Dubai (DXB) has no nonstop service — Visayas-based kabayan connect via Manila or Singapore. Total journey time runs ~12-15 hours including layover; off-peak roundtrip economy fares sit at PHP 34,000-50,000 via MNL. Scoot’s ILO-SIN service launched April 2025 added a useful southern routing option for OFWs sa Iloilo and Bacolod region.
Route at a glance
0 nonstop carriers are catalogued on ILO–DXB; the corridor is flown as a connection, with a scheduled block of 10.0 hours. 5 out of 10 is the demand score this site assigns the corridor editorially.
This corridor carries a demand score of 5/10 in our route file and is flagged as a migrant-worker corridor. Connect via MNL. Read that number for what it is: an editorial 1-10 ranking of estimated Filipino-language search interest, built for prioritising which pages we research first. It is not a passenger count, not a load factor, and not a quality signal about the airlines involved. High-scoring corridors are the ones where seats on the cheapest fare classes disappear first and where the gap between an early booking and a two-week-out booking is widest; low-scoring corridors tend to hold their price longer but give you fewer departures to choose from if a plan slips.
- Distance & duration: ~12-15 hours total via 1 stop (no nonstop available).

Entry rules for a Philippine passport in United Arab Emirates
1 rule governs entry here for a Philippine passport: Visa-on-arrival for OFW returning to family or e-visa for tourist, at AED 100 (₱1,500) for 30-day on-arrival; AED 250 (₱3,800) for 60-day e-visa, for a maximum stay of 30–60 days depending on visa class. Verified 2026-05-18.
- United Arab Emirates — Visa-on-arrival for OFW returning to family or e-visa for tourist; fee AED 100 (
₱1,500) for 30-day on-arrival; AED 250 (₱3,800) for 60-day e-visa; max stay 30–60 days depending on visa class. Free 96-hour Dubai transit visa available via Emirates / flydubai connecting flight. Official source
Two things this table does not cover, and they are the ones that strand people. A visa grants permission to apply for entry — the officer at the border still decides, and a return or onward ticket plus proof of funds is what that decision usually turns on. And a visa for your destination says nothing about the countries you transit: several major hubs require their own transit visa or a same-terminal, same-ticket connection to be exempt, and the exemption is lost the moment you have to collect a bag and check in again. Visa rules change frequently. Use this as a starting reference only; verify with the destination’s embassy or official immigration portal before booking. For OFW employment visas, follow the DMW deployment process — that is separate from tourist/visit visas.
Cheapest pockets are February-March and September to early November, when via-MNL fares slide to PHP 34,000-40,000. Avoid the Dec 15-Jan 5 balikbayan rush and the two weeks around Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, kasi tighter ang both legs. Hajj in June pressures Gulf-bound seats indirectly. Book 10-14 weeks out po for tipid; combined-fare construction (separate ILO-MNL + MNL-DXB) sometimes mas mura than single-ticket — pero check baggage transfer rules at NAIA Terminal switching.

Connecting through Manila to reach Dubai
0 carriers are catalogued nonstop on ILO–DXB. The corridor is flown as a connection, normally through Manila (MNL), with about 10.0 hours of flying before the transfer time is counted.
What decides how much risk you carry on a connecting Iloilo–Dubai journey is whether you hold one ticket or two. Manila handled 50,100,000 passengers in 2024 (MIAA / NNIC), so the transfer happens inside a very busy building. On one ticket the carriers accept the connection as their problem: the bag is checked through to DXB, the minimum connecting time published for the airport is what protects you, and a delay on the domestic leg obliges the airline to move you onto the next available onward flight at no charge. On two separately bought tickets none of that holds. You collect the bag in Manila, clear out of the terminal, check in again from scratch, and if the first flight runs late the second airline is entitled to treat you as a no-show and keep the fare. The cheaper two-ticket combination is genuinely cheaper — right up to the first delay, at which point it costs more than the difference it saved.
| Routing | Total time | Typical economy | OFW-friendliness |
|---|---|---|---|
| ILO → MNL (PR/Z2) → DXB (PR/EK) | ~12-13h | PHP 34,000-50,000 | High — single-ticket, baggage thru-checked |
| ILO → SIN (TR) → DXB (EK) | ~13-15h | PHP 33,000-48,000 | Medium — separate tickets, baggage rules vary |
| ILO → CEB (5J/PR) → DXB (PR/EK) | ~13-15h | PHP 35,000-52,000 | Medium — limited CEB-DXB seats |

Dubai as an arrival point
4 facts identify the arrival airport on this pair: DXB is Dubai International Airport (DXB/OMDB); the local currency is AED; region Middle East; OFW relevance rated high.
On arrival you are landing at Dubai International Airport, ICAO OMDB, serving Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Largest UAE OFW hub; PR + EK heavy daily service. Across the whole Philippine market, Emirates, Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific are the carriers our destination file records as serving Dubai from home — a wider set than the ones flying this particular pair, which is why a Manila routing sometimes opens options Iloilo does not have. A planning point that costs people money: an airport code is not a city. Where a city has more than one airport, the low fare is often into the outlying field, and the road time and taxi fare can wipe out the difference. Check which airport your fare actually lands at before you compare two prices, and if you are connecting onward from a different airport in the same city, treat that as a separate journey with its own buffer — no airline protects a connection that involves a taxi.
- Low (Feb-Mar, Sep-early Nov): PHP 34,000-40,000 (AED 2,200-2,600 / USD 605-715).
- Mid (May-Jul, late Nov): PHP 41,000-55,000 (AED 2,650-3,600 / USD 730-980).
- Peak (Eid, Dec 15-Jan 5): PHP 62,000-85,000 (AED 4,050-5,550 / USD 1,105-1,520).
OFW-specific notes
1 classification applies here: ILO–DXB is flagged as a migrant-worker corridor in our route file. Departure clearance is a Department of Migrant Workers process, separate from anything the airline controls. 5 out of 10 is the demand score this site assigns the corridor editorially.
Two separate systems meet at the gate on an OFW corridor and it helps to keep them apart. The airline owns the ticket, the seat and the baggage allowance. The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Philippines owns your right to leave as a worker — the Overseas Employment Certificate, the record of a licensed recruiter, the contract that the immigration officer is checking against. An airline cannot fix a documentation problem and will not refund a fare because you were offloaded over one; that is a separate process with its own timelines. The practical order of operations is therefore: settle the DMW paperwork first, then buy the ticket around the date it clears, then claim the baggage uplift at check-in with the same documents in hand. Book the other way round and the cheapest fare you found becomes the most expensive change fee you have paid.
Kabayan sa Iloilo at Bacolod, sulit ang direct ILO-MNL feeder kasi single-ticket guarantees baggage thru-check at OFW priority sa NAIA. PAL Bayani’s 33 kg is workhorse via MNL; Emirates’ 45 kg OFW bundle is gold kapag SIN routing. Always carry OEC, contract, and POLO clearance — Iloilo Immigration Counter spot-checks pa rin. Paano kung delayed ang feeder? Single-ticket protects you; separate tickets via SIN expose you to misconnect risk. Sulit pa rin po ang corridor kapag well-planned ang booking 10+ weeks out.
FAQ
4 questions below draw only on the route, carrier and fare data this project keeps for ILO–DXB. Where a number is a cache floor it is described as one, and where a rule does not hold universally the gaps are spelled out.
Being specific about provenance is the only way a page like this earns trust, so: every figure above is read from a file in this project rather than from an airline’s marketing page. Frequencies are schedule estimates compiled from public timetable snapshots — Frequencies are estimates from public schedule data; flight hours are scheduled block times. Indirect-only corridors flagged where no nonstop exists. Flight hours are scheduled block times, gate to gate, not time in the air. Fares are cache floors: the lowest one-way the Travelpayouts feed returned for a pair at the moment it was polled, for one date and one fare class, excluding checked baggage where the carrier sells it separately. Baggage allowances and OFW uplifts come from the carrier programme records in this project and are the figure to confirm at booking, because an airline can change a programme without changing a timetable. Where a number is missing we leave it out rather than estimate it.
